Christopher's Experience

Christopher is a qualified company secretary with over twenty years’ experience managing the governance of major financial, insurance, professional services, and utility organisations as either group company secretary, head of governance or as a senior governance advisor.


Christopher’s specific areas of specialism are governance framework remodelling, board and committee management, practical guidance on the Senior Managers Regime and Certification Regime, project management of governance automation programmes, main market floatation governance and the development and coaching of directors, company secretaries and other governance stakeholders.


Christopher has held senior governance advisor roles with several organisations, including Intertek Group PLC, Clifford Chance LLP, Swiss Re GB PLC and Fidelity International. Christopher is also the founder of RPP (Resilience, Positivity and Purpose) Coaching Group, an initiative which aims to provide non-executive directors, company secretaries and other governance professionals with some additional support when considering their next career or development step.

I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of “things”, what brought about their initial design, why does that work that way, how is it powered and controlled, how can design flaws be rectified. With this mindset and approach, I have developed a way to work in a consensual but decisive manner with senior management teams to turn complexity into simplicity. Equally, I have developing a keen eye for identifying cultural and structural issues which may be holding an organisation or person back from achieving their full potential, so I make great efforts to build trusted working partnerships with clients.


For all our clients, I endeavour to bring my passion for turning governance from a preventer to an enabler into their organisation, If I’m lucky, I hope that along the way, we as a partnership, empower people through positive role modelling, coaching and development to encourage them to take personal accountability for their responsibilities and career within the support network of the board and committee framework to help them make the right decision when the time comes.
